Never responded to multiple requests for help, shipping huge problem
Bidding was fine, but once you win, wow, hold on tight. Really challenged in terms of operational processes. Shipping, well, you are worse than on your own: The auction house doesn't ship, advises you use one particular shipper only and actually declares you can't use a couple of particular shippers. Neither the auction house or the shipper they want you to use replied to ANY of my emails. Could not get a shipping quote. Could not get a reply to my email if it was OK to use the local shipper I found close by to the auction house. Did not reply to an email where I attempted to coordinate pickup. So, they want to use a particular shipper.... and not use others... but don't count on ANY help. (Shippers I found on my own in Tampa.... Sending TLC were actually superb. Top notch. I'd use them over and over again.) Burchard also is a bit odd with billing and payments. In one breath, they say if you pay direct and send out of state, you may not have to pay tax. But I was never able to get them to respond to a billing email. And they sent an invoice via Live Auctioneers that included tax and that if you didn't pay it, well, they would void the transaction. I've been buying at auctions for oodles of years. I know it's chaos. But it's not this difficult for basic operational issues.

We are very sorry to hear that you have not had a pleasant experience with our Auction House. If you would like to discuss the details further and let us know what we can do to make this right, you can certainly call the Office at 727-821-1167. I would also like to clarify a few things: 1. In the past, we offered too many shipping options which seemed to frustrate our buyers so we decided to try something more streamlined so as to make it easier for our buyers by using one shipper primarily however, as stated in everyone’s Invoice, “if you have a shipper that you would normally use, you are welcome to do so.” (That also means, you are absolutely allowed to any shipper of your choosing) 2. We have only prohibited the use of one shipper and that is “Capitol City Moving” and that is because of his lack of communication, he is notoriously unreliable and has oftentimes taken 6 months to a year to pick up items from our gallery. So no, we do not work with him any longer. 3. Also stated in everyone’s Invoice, “due to the “Internet Sales Tax” rules that are unfolding and are being implemented around the country, if you choose to pay via LivePayments (“Pay Now”) and you do not have a Resale Certificate on file with Live Auctioneers, even if you are an out of state bidder, you will be charged sales tax.” And since Live Auctioneers collects and remits their own sales tax (when using their Payment Processor), you will only see the sales tax on your Live Auctioneers Invoice. We appreciate your feedback and we will use such feedback to make the shipping process and billing more clear in the future and to better serve our Customers.

Fake item in Auction won
I won this auction having faith it was an antique Soldier's watch, upon researching the item I found out it was an Indian made novelty/Replica item that's worth no more than@ 15. Auctioneer demanded payment and shamefully filed a dispute when I declined to pay, even though I sent them links to examples of these novelty watches for sale all over the internet.

You should see that reflect on your profile immediately. You had a valid concern regarding how the Lot was described and while our expert did not agree with what you found, we certainly understood and respectfully canceled the sale and released you from the transaction. Well Managed Auction
My first time with BG and found them responsive with preauction questions, smoothly run auction with IMO great items. I purchased 2 nautilus swivel lounge chairs. Shortly after delivery, while cleaning the upholstery, I found 3 old rubbed tears in an inconspicuous place at the lower back of one chair which had rather camouflaged pattern of fabric. In retrospect, there were no BG photos preauction of this area nor by the receiving shipper nor by me initially receiving items late in the day. BG was fair and prompt in investigating and resolving this issue. Honest, professional, efficiently managed, easy to work with, and quality items. I would do business with them again. Highly recommended.

Impeccable customer service
Burchard Galleries are a very good and efficient auctioneers. Buying internationally with them is easy as they have a great shipping arrangement. My pottery items were packed virtually bomb proof and arrived to the UK fast. Recommended so buy with confidence.
